Of all the fairy tales told through and through
The one I like most involves me and you
Though there are no dragons to try and pursue
A villain named loneliness, you chose to slew
With nothing but compassion to light the way
And kindness wielded to slay doubts as prey
My trust was fed on the strength you displayed
Which few have promised and chose to betray
Once eagerly unaware of the scenery ahead
Bruises, not kisses, have been felt instead
This open heart closed and began to dread
Kind eyed strangers with intentions unsaid
Weary of the wariness that love can be true
Your hand over mine in more ways imbued
Belief in each other to see everything through
More than perfumed speeches could ever do
As every fairy tale needs some magic and song
This Christmas Eve I wish truly to belong
Nowhere other than in your arms wrapped strong
Around the happily ever after which awaits us lifelong
